Civil discourse on the air every week on Common Ground
I was born in Los Angeles in 1962 and raised in a conservative Republican family. My family was in the manufacturing business and relied on the government to stay out of their way.
I moved to a rich part of the city and was introduced to the liberal way of life. I quickly learned that I was pretending to be liberal to fit in. I eventually made the decision to stick to my conservative principals. I moved to Hawaii and became a successful Pawnbroker. I moved back to L.A. for a short time. I moved to Carolina where I met my wife Kindra. We have a great family with three kids and three dogs.

I moved to Lake Havasu City AZ in 2007 and owned and operated a Chevron/Circle K gas station where I became famous for my Trump wrapped Chrysler 300.
I sold the station and opened Lookie Loo’s Antiques & Collectibles in 2021 where I used my counter as a sounding board for political discourse.
I was then that I realized I could be an agent for change and try to bridge the divide between Liberals and Conservatives. All I needed was a platform…
KNTR Talk Radio on 106.7 FM offered me a spot for a show, Common Ground every Tuesday at 9:00 am.
Our show is an attempt at finding ways for both liberals and conservatives to seek some middle ground and come together to heal our ailing nation. We are all Americans and we need to become agents of change for the betterment of all. We are…
COMMON GROUND
Melissa Lucas

Born in Toronto Canada, by American parents. Moved to Chicago as a baby and spent the first five years of life in the Windy City. By the time, first grade started, I was living in Salem, Oregon. I grew up on the rifle range, competing and traveling across the United States and took my first national championship at 13 years old. When I was 17 I fell pregnant, I actually found out about the pregnancy the same day my dad, who was the shooting coach, had got notification that I had received a four year full ride scholarship. In order to accept that scholarship, because it was from the Navy NROTC, I had to pass a physical. I chose the child instead. That decision cost me the relationship with my parents. I was in survival mode for the next decade. I started waiting tables. When I was 32, I married the man of my dreams.
After we’ve been married for about six months, my hubby, who was a builder, asked me a question that changed my life. He asked, “ are you gonna be a waitress forever or what? What do you wanna be when you grow up” I thought about it and prayed about it. And then, about a month later, answered his question. I told him I wanna own my own restaurant. A restaurant named after my car. BlondZee. But not just one. I wanted restaurants all over the world, but not close together. And then I zeroed in on that goal. 2006 I started at a big restaurant and bar on Portland Road in Salem, saved my tips for 9 1/2 years, and in 2015 we bought it from my boss. Built a solid glass garage in front of the restaurant for customers to showcase their vehicles, monthly, and patented it! Our waiting list for customers to display their vehicle, is about 3 years out. In 2018, we bought our second location in Lake Havasu city Arizona. The plan was to build a second Glass Garage in front of the lake Havasu city location. As of today, I have not been able to obtain the building permit.
